Depends: How long have the symptoms been present? Any other medical problems? Any medications? Any behavior problems? Bowel movements? Many possible causes including gerd, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, food allergies, partial bowel obstruction, gall bladder disease to name a few. See pediatrician and/or pediatric gastroenterologist.

Failure to thrive: You must seek competent medical advice from pediatrician. If you are not getting enough help ask for consultation or get a new doctor.

She needs: to be evaluated ASAP. She could have a stomach ulcer or malrotation of the intestine with intermittent volvulus. Children should not unintentionally lose weight. This indicates a problem that needs to be addressed right away.
