A member asked:

Is it ok to drink something acidic like orange juice after a meal if u have a stomach ulcer ? would the food act as a barrier ie protect the lining

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OK IF YOU ARE TREATE: Even though orange juice is very acidic and is adviced not to be consumed if you have peptic ulcer, but if you are being treated with antibiotics for h pylori which causes the ulcer and you have finished the two weeks course and are taking proton pump inhibiters to suppress the acid production in your stomach, you may be able to tolerate orange juice or you can get low acidity orange juice.
