Thanks for asking!: Its too common to have a problem of constipation in pregnancy so plan proper diet more Cellulose cerials, bananas, icecreamcones. Make habit of drinking warm water -two glasses first thing in morning when wake up plus repeat by 10am. Also yogurt, green vegetables etc and very safe bowel laxative-once in a while is ok like collace- try to aim for soft stool baby can't be seriously harmed.

Nope.: You probably cannot strain hard enough to increase the pressure so much in your abdominal space to harm a fetus. Don't worry. You may, however, be uncomfortable - fiber, water, stool softeners, and laxatives can all help - just check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure they're safe in pregnancy!
