Friendships: I'm so glad you have your little dog -- dogs can be wonderful friends. What has happened with other humans, though? For some, these relationships have been very disappointing and painful. Yet being friends with at least a few people is natural. Your question hints that you know this.Could you take your dog on a play date? Other dogs have people too. Seeing a therapist about this could help also.

Depression: I would encourage you to set up an appt with a social worker or therapist to help you. Dogs make great friends but human to human interaction is really important as well. Check with your doctor as well to make sure you are not suffering from any mood disorder like depression.

Dogs and friends: I have had 3 wonderful dogs in my life & so i know how amazing the bond, friendship & love is. As a very young kid, my dog was my best friend. Now that I am older, I have some loyal amazing friends as well. The relationships are different & each wonderful in their own way. Having both a dog & human friends is the best! it's something that we have to work at to achieve, but worth the effort.
