Pharyngitis: Sounds like acute pharyngitis: usually viral, sometimes bacterial. High fever, worsening pain, any breathing difficulty, should prompt medical attention.

Likely tonsillitis: This could be due to several acute illnesses like viral pharyngitis, tonsillitis., strep throat etc.Sometimes it could lead to a condition called quincy or peritonsillar abscess , when one tonsil is pushed forward and patient feels a lump in the throat. Will get her checked their pediatrician.
