No: Sex after a ventral hernia repair can occur once the patient is comfortable. It will not cause harm to the repair.

Hernia repair actvty: Activities following hernia repair should be limited by discomfort. If an activity causes pain, it should be avoided. Occasionally, patients with difficult repairs will be instructed to avoid strenous activities for longer periods of time. Ask you surgeon for specifics about your situtation.
