Nope: It is never ok to smoke. It will probably not do anything to affect a colonoscopy but it can do plenty to affect your life. Do yourself a favor an quit. Believe you can.

Also: In addition to the obvious concerns, smokers usually cough a lot during anesthesia for colonoscopy, and this makes it more difficult to do a good exam. Its best if you quit altogether, but if you can avoid for a week or two prior to colonoscopy (or any surgery) you will have a better outcome.
