Not necessarily: Thyroid cancer can be without symptoms other than swelling in the neck or abnormal thyroid function levels on bloodwork. If it does cause symptoms, it can give an appearance of an overactive thyroid: weight loss, racing heartbeat, feeling hot when others feel comfortable, diarrhea, and anxiety. You don't have to have all of these symptoms. Start with bloodwork to see if your levels are ok.
