Depends: It will depend on the extent of the sprain. In general, the boot is used for immobilization to allow the injury to heal. For sprains, typically 4-6 weeks; however, that varies again on the type of injury as well as how compliant the child is with wearing the device. If you have any questions, ask the doctor who put the child in the boot for specifics.
