Sub conj hemorrhage: Blood spots on the eye surface are typically harmless but can take 1-2 weeks to resolve completely. They are often due to a hard cough, sneeze or bowel movement. They can also occur when you rub your eyes. The risk is greater in patients who use blood thinners or Aspirin on a regular basis.
