Not likely: HSV-1 blisters can occur on many different parts of the body but are most common on or around the lips and not on your gums. Canker sore is a better possibility.

Probably not but..: Yes recurrent oral herpes can occur in the mouth. In otherwise healthy patients it always occurs on the gums or palate.... This is one if the ways the dentist differentiates it from canker sores, which occur on the loose tissues if the mouth.
