How do you deal with hallucinations caused by dementia?

Full med eval: Depending on the type of dementia, there will often be different treatments. If the diagnosis is lewy body disease, then the answer at first treatment is starting a drug called a cholinesterase inhibitor like aricept, (donepezil) if not already started. In addition, the person needs a full eval(medical + med review) to be sure there is no other issues going on adding to confusion - like a urinary infection.

With treatment.: Hallucinations can be terrifying. But there are risks with any treatment. The risks have to be weighed against the benefits.
