See orthopedist: A lump may represent a mass or a cyst. A bursal sac may also reveal itself as a lump/mass. Fluid in an irritated knee may sometimes be mistaken as a lump around the knee. A hematoma or seroma following trauma may be considerations as well. See orthopedic surgeon.
