Toothpaste burn?: All i can think of would be some type of reaction to a flavoring or other ingredient or possible allergy? I have not heard of that before. Vaseline would not be a problem but if it is an allergic problem, then Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or cortizone ointment may be better.

Burn?.: I am not so sure if it is burned by toothpaste... Never heard of that.. You might be allergic or sensitive to a component of this tooth paste, specially if it is a new brand you are using.. But vaseline can not damage, since you're asking

Yes: Do chamomile tea compresses to calm down the skin and use moisturizer without chemicals, vasaline may work.
