Therapist: I compliment you for two things. First, for realizing that you are thinking too much about this issue & secondly for seeking advice and help. I would recommend you seek a consult with a therapist\psychologist\ psychiatrist. Ask around & get a referral. It can improve the quality of your life. These issues are often quickly & easily resolved. Also see an oral surgeon 4 cancer screening every 6 mo's.

Cancer Anxiety: Hello, i see many patients who share your concern. The first question i would have is, "do you have any risk factors?" these would include smoking or chewing tobacco, drinking alcohol, family history of cancer, exposure to oral viral infections. If the answer is yes then schedule an appointment with your ENT physician. Fortunately, a complete exam will answer your question and resolve your anxiety.
