Bursitis vs Spasm: Sounds like your have a very excited muscle spasm there or a friction rub over the bursa in your hip. Otc anti-inflamatories (if no contraindications) plus some cold compresses would likely help. If not, talk to your doc.

Seek medical eval: The combination of pain and heat as well as abnormal sensations suggests inflammation in your hip which could have many causes. Please see your doctor about this.
