There may be none: Atrial fibrillation is a heart arrhythmia where the atria (2top chambers) are contracting in a rapid disorganized manner, and the blood is being pumped only as a result of the lower chambers, the ventricles. If the ventricular rate is fast, the symptoms can be palpitations or fluttering in the chest, shortness of breath, chest pains. At fib puts one at risk for strokes, so it must be treated.

How about a stroke?: Chronic a. Fib patients are at high risk for strokes. Until that happens, you might notice fatigue, palpations, poor exercise tolerance.
