Depends...: It will depend on the size of the chip and its location. Small chip fractures in the foot can resorb; however, if the chip fracture is in an area where it has the possibility of resetting, it is up to the doctor examining the condition if the chip will heal on its own or may need surgical intervention to be fixated back.

Bone injury: With any bone injury it takes time for proper healing to occur, which is usually around 6 weeks. With proper treatment, many foot fractures and or bone "chips" will heal without needing surgical intervention. If you are concerned get a follow up or a second opinion. Best wishes!

2 B or knot 2 B.: Well for the most part, it either heals back on the main bone or it doesn't. The results are that it either ends with residual pain or it doesn't. That would mean that removing the chip in the future may be necessary.
