A member asked:

Does diovan (valsartan) have potassium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, but: It doesn't have potassium but it causes potassium retention in the kidney and, in folks with abnormal renal function, can lead to dangerously high levels of potassium. Thus blood samples are indicated to measure both renal function and potassium for people who take diovan (valsartan).
