Yes: That dose of estrogen is about equivalent to 2% of the usual daily estrogen production from the ovaries. You would need to take 100 of the 2mg Estradiol each day to replace the normal ovarian production. However, most women do not need to take that much and the usual dose is 2 to 4 mg per day.
