Is drinking blackberry brandy good for a sorethroat?

Not in my opinion: brandies, because they often contain sort of "cooling" compounds, were thought to be "medicinal," but they aren't/ Alcohol is not good for any kind of infection - it actually increases inflammation, diminishes the immune system response to infections, and has many drug interactions with many antibiotics and other medications used in treating various conditions.
