A member asked:

Is cystoscopy necessary to diagnose split stream urination?

Dr. James Lin answered

Usually not, but...: Cystoscopy is usually not needed. But if failed to respond to medical treatment for slow urine flow or uti, urologist does cystoscopy to make sure of no urethral stricture, diverticulum, stone, foreign body, tumor, etc. So, if still in doubt, ask your urologist straight. Best wish...
