Is 32 red blood cells in urine high?

Normally none: Normally there are no red blood cells in a urine sample. Women having their montly period tend to get blood contamination in urine easily. Otherwise with a clean sample, there is a source of red blood cells entering the urine from some other location, which is abnormal and further evaluation is needed including clinical history and physical exam.

Yes: This is microscopic hematuria. May be of little or no consequence, but, should be worked up. Could be due to kidney stone, uti, interstitial cystitis, kidney disease, urethral stricture, or something more serious like.Bladder or kidney cancer.
