Red, Hot, Tender: An infected incision will look very red and blanch to the touch. It will also be very warm and tender to the touch. There will be more swelling than normal. There may or may not be pus or foul smelling drainage coming from the wound. If your wound has any of these characteristics you should contact your physician.

Upside-Down "V" : The subcostal space is the portion of the abdomen just below the lower edge of the ribcage. The described incision runs parallel to the edge of the ribcage on both sides of the abdomen. This is also known as a "chevron" incision. Btw-"hepatectomy" means liver resection, if that was part of the question, as well.

Uncommon: Anything is possible but that is quite late for a wound infection to occur that late after surgery. See your surgeon asap.
