About a week: There's 2 related questions here. It takes a little under a week for fluoxetine (prozac) to leave the body after dosing has stopped. This is longer than other antidepressants. But all antidepressants, including prozac, continue to have an effect on mood for 2-3 weeks after they're stopped. The brain effect persists that long even after the drug is gone.
