Oral cancer/tobacco: No one knows for sure so quit chewing. The spitting part is yucky anyway.

Usually years: In most people oral cancer develops after years or decades of tobacco exposure. However, genetically susceptible person may develop it much faster to the extent that oral cancer has been seen in teenagers. Get off this bad habit as soon as you can. There other risks from tobacco use, e.g., heart disease, bladder cancer.
