Hormonal: Desogen (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) contains estrogen. When you take the pill, the estrogen in the pill decreases the need for estrogen production from the ovaries. Estrogen production from the ovaries comes from ovarian cysts. Less estrogen needed from the ovaries means less ovarian cysts.
