Phentermine: I am very worried that you are willing to take phentermine. This is a harmful and dangerous drug marketed as an appetite suppressant. I have never seen it lead anyone to real or sustained weight loss. It tricks the brain into an obsession that one cannot eat without it. Any physician who would prescribe it for you does not have your best interest in mind.

Zoloft (sertraline): I would not recommend any diet pills, with or without zoloft (sertraline). Talk to your doctor about life style changes to help with weight and your diabetes.

SSRI + Phentermine: Combining ssri's with Phentermine has been associated with toxic reactions described in the literature [bostwick jm, brown tm. J clin psychopharmacol 1996;16:189—90]. I recommend against this combination. Phentermine is a stimulant which can leads to effects like dizziness, dysphoria, headache, insomnia, overstimulation, restlessness, and tremor. The appetite loss effect wears off quickly too.
