Allergic: Yes it is an allergic reaction that can be managed with over the counter antihistamines and decongestants. If you get allergy tested by an allergist/immunologist you can find out what to avoid to minimize exposure. Sometimes desensitization shots can be used of avoidance is not possible.

Hay fever: Hay fever can also cause allergic conjunctivitis as well as asthma symptoms. Take an antihistamine at night before bedtime. If necessary take another one first thing in the morning. A good antihistamine to take would be xyrtec or allegra (fexofenadine). Also make sure you sleep with the windows closed and the air conditioning going.

Yes: You can buy an over the counter generic non-drowsy antihistamine of Claritin (loratadine) or Allegra or zyrtec(might make you a bit sleepy).

Also itchy eyes: These are the most typical symptoms but one can also see itchy, watery eyes. There are many medications , some of which are otc, that can most likely be helpful in controlling symptoms.
