Leukemia: That is where good amount of bone marrow is present. The normal and leukemia cells are produced there and you get the perfect blood picture. Thanks.

Best place to sample: If one is concerned about leukemia you need to go to where the cells originate to take a sample to determine amount and type. Any bone will have marrow inside it but the posterior iliiac spine is the one which is easiest to get to and large enough to give a adequate sample. The procedure is known as a bone marrow biopsy and aspirate.
