Hi Angie: I tried to answer this earlier today: you have gall bladder disease. The ef should be between 35 and 70% the liver uptake is normal - that's not where the problem is. It's your gall bladder. Treatment will depend on your symptoms and other medical conditions.

Normal: A hida scan is a gallbladder function test. The first medication is able to be followed as it goes through. The first thing seen is uptake by the liver. The liver takes the isotope out of the blood and dumps it in the bile. Once we see it in the gallbladder and bowel a 2nd med is given to tell the gb to work. The 10% is a decreased function of your gall bladder. Should be 50% +. See surgeon.

Normal, abnormal : Homogeneous uptake in the liver is normal. 10 % ejection fraction is low. It suggests a poorly functioning gallbladder. It should be greater than 30-40 %.
