Ice and benedryl: Ice the area with a towel between the ice bag and the bite. Over the counter drugs that you could use include benedryl ointment or tablets if severe and Hydrocortisone cream. Make certain to follow the children's dosing on the label. If the child is very young, he may need to see a doctor.
