There is recurrence: About 20% of patients with c. Difficile infection have a recurence of the infection after they finish treatment - even if they are not exposed to more antibiotics. There does not appear to be any relationship between recurrence & the severity of the original infection or the treatment used. Elderly women, chemotherapy, and kidney disease correlated with recurrence.

C.diff: Im glad to see you've recovered and now its time for you to live a normal life thinking in positive terms and not worrying so much about when tour next bout of c diff is going to happen. Dontlet your illness consume your life.

You could: Use of antibiotics is not the only risk factor for the development of c. Diff. It is a significant contributor however. Gi doc is more correct than regular doctor.
