You should try and : Keep trying to breastfeed if possible and your dr advice it; it s worth the effort, it s the ideal and perfect food for your baby. Seek guidance from pediatrician and specialized nurses and staff...If for some reason is impossible, formula (properly prepared and administerd) is the 2nd best choice.

Confusing question: Are you concerned about adding foods or not breast feeding? While breast milk is preferred and perfectly designed to supply all the nutrients needed for a 3 wk old, formula is an acceptable alternative when you must.Other foods are not necessary to improve nutrition for the next several months.

Infant Feeding: 'not the best'! formula can never be as good as mother's milk/breast milk. From 4 month of age, supplementary food is being introduced. If you are going to have more babies, plan ahead of time to breast feed at least up to 6 months.
