A member asked:

My 2 week old daughter is being fed with breast + formula top up. in the past week, she projectile threw up formula 3 times, last time was 1 hour after feeding. does this mean she may be intolerant to that formula and we should switch brand?

Not particularly: Babies can throw up as a sporadic uncontrolled wet burp, not a sign of illness or food intolerance. They have no social conscience to consider it bad & no aversion to throwing up. It can often happen more forcefully as they get a little older. If it happened every time I might buy into the food intolerance, but 3 times in a week=no.

Mgt.: I would recommend seeing your Pediatrician, and continuing the feeds to keep the baby hydrated. If there is any bleeding, please see the Emergency room.
