Antipsychotics: Quetiapine may be less likely to cause weight gain than olanzapine, but it can still cause it. This is unfortunately a known issue with newer antipsychotic medicines. Congratulations on losing 6 pounds, though! you'll want to keep moving, taking walks, and shifting from any fried or processed foods to veggies, fruits, complex carbs, lean proteins, healthy fats, etc. Be well!

You did good: Olanzapine tends to cause more weight gain than quetiapine but quetiapine itself can still be making it hard to lose weight or causing weight gain. Sometimes all such meds have to be stopped to remove the weight gain risks. Your md will give you strategies to combat this problem. Glad to hear you are trying to stay healthy.
