No, not hype: Organic food is more expensive, but it reduces exposure to toxic pesticides. Also i've personally noticed the flavor to often be better with organic foods (especially apples!) another reason to eat organic foods is to avoid the genetically modified (gmo) ones that now permeate our food supply -- with little data to support their long-term safety.
