Avoid trigger foods: Which may be different for you compared to others. Don't keep trigger foods in the house. Eat food that have a low glycemic index, to stabilize blood sugar. Access a support group such as overeaters anonymous for help with managing triggers. Weight watchers also is helpful to maintain commitment and learn how to eat more healthily, stay satisfied and less hungry.

Meformin: Metformin will take care of both your problems--carbohydrate cravings and weight gain. Carb cravings are a result of Insulin resistance, to which we all are subject as we grow older. Metformin restores Insulin receptor sensitivity, greatly mitigating carb cravings, usually resulting in weight normalization. Recommended dosage is 1, 500-2, 000 mg per day.

Check out "the virgin diet": http://tinyurl.Com/kwlpr78 and dian sanfilippo's "the 21-day sugar detox": http://tinyurl.Com/mk5v7e9 the second book is based on a paleo food plan. On neither of these will you be hungry. Good luck!
