No such term: Food addiction is a media/popularized statement about how people consume food. It is not a recognized disorder. Psychological disorders associated with food include pica, anorexia, bulimia, and overeating/binging.

Overeaters Anonymous: Take the quiz on www.Oa.Org. There may be no technical diagnosis "food addiction, " but compulsive eating behaviors are true addiction. Overeaters anonymous is based on the principles of aa. There is non-judgmental support in oa for developing a healthy plan of eating (not a "diet").
