Yes and no: A benign kidney mass, the most common is called a simple cyst, does not cause kidney stones. Stasis of urine, diet and genetics cause stones. If there is calcium (or stones) within the mass then it may not be benign and a pre and post contrast ct or MRI is needed to determine what is going on.
