Extremely unlikely: Most patients do not have symptoms until their kidney functions are down to 10-20% of normal and most often they will have vague, nonspecific symptoms such as fatigue and loss of appetite. Many patients will have elevated blood pressure and some may show signs of fluid retention as their renal function continue to deteriorate. Hot flashes, however, are usually not caused by impaired kidneys.
