A member asked:

63. should i get all my blood tests, exams, etc now in case of problem so can be treated before medicare?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medical need: Blood tests should be done only if medically indicated. By design, about 5% of the results will be in the "abnormal" range. If you get 20 tests done, at least one will be in the abnormal range even if there is no disease. You and your doctor will then be forced into doing more tests to sort it out. Let your doctor decide if any blood tests are medically necessary.
