Retinal dystrophies such as retinitis pigmentosa, degenerative conditions such as advanced stage glaucoma, vascular conditions such as occipital stroke, and post traumatic conditions such as traumatic optic neuropathy all can constrict visual fields. Malignant or benign brain tumors are rare causes of tunnel vision.

Peripheral vision: This simply means that your peripheral vision is not as wide as normal. There are many reasons for this and you should ask your eye doc or neurologist why.

Less width: Visual fields are a measurement of the extent of vision 360 degrees from the center. Tests of this generate a plot of the outer limits of sensitivity. If the outer limits are less than normal, this is considered constricted and usually the test plot or a number will be entered in the chart to indicate the amount of impairment .
