Visual field defect: There are many conditions that cause a visual field defect. Nonprocessive refers to a biochemical enzyme usage and does not make sense here.

CNS problems: Many strokes will cause a visual field defect which is stable and non-progressive although the initial loss can be devastating. Trauma to the optic nerve or the visual pathways can also do this. Most other lesions that register as a field defect are commonly progressive unless treatment is given.
