Possibly but...: During the several days immediately after tummy tuck surgery, it is normal to have air bubbles just below the skin surface. Of course, your plastic surgeon will always be the best resource for the most precise “advice”. Best wishes.

Yes: If you feel like there are little bubbles under your skin, then yes, you can have that for several days after surgery. If there is any redness, fevers, or changes that seem like your surgery is not recovering well you should see your surgeon right away as there are infections that can cause that feeling as well.

crepitus: Sometimes after surgery is normal to have some air trapped underneath the tissues. This may feel like a rice crispy when pressed upon. If there is no fever, redness, or pain there is little to be concerned with however, there are some conditions such as infections which may increase the amount of gas trapped within the tissues. If you suspect an infection contact your surgeon immediately.

Yes for up to 3 week: It is quite normal to have some air pockets after any surgery but especially common after tummy surgery. If associated with pain or fever or redness, contact your surgeon.V.
