Bacteria from bowel: Mixed means more than one species of bacteria eg e. Coli (most common bacteria both in bowel/stool & in utis), enerococcus, proteus etc. Are amongst others. Sometimes indicate a contaminated urine specimen because more than one type of bacteria is present, but can sometimes be cause of a uti. Culture always worth repeating if mixed.
