Why would someone get a treadmill exercise test while another would get a pharmlogic stress test?

Health reasons: It depends. Often times people who can not exercise due to age, injury, disease, doctors will order a pharmcologic stress test. It can also be a functional view they want to see as well.

Many reasons: We always start with a treadmill exercise treadmill stress test if possible. However, some people might not be able to exercise so it would make an exercise stress inconclusive. For this reason, those patients would be best served by undergoing a pharm stress.
