A member asked:

What causes wrist to pop when it moves?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The popping sound you hear in your wrist is called crepitus. This can occur when the wrist joint is stretched, causing pressure that pulls gasses out of the joint fluid and makes a popping or clicking sound. However, if there also pain, weakness or swelling in the wrist, then that is a sign that something more serious might be going on. There is a cartilage in the wrist than can be damaged.
