Subluxation: Think of subluxation as a minor dislocation that returns to normal. That may be the popping that you're reporting. Wear a splint for a while and see if that helps decrease pain. If you notice numbness and/or weakness, you need an emergent evaluation. Otherwise, plan to go see your family doc for a complete evaluation if splinting isn't enough or pain returns w/o splint. We can't diagnose w/o exam.
