Depends but rare: Omentum inside the hernia sac is a low risk incarceration. In comparison if a loop of bowel were stuck/incarcerated in the hernia sac this can turn into ischemia bowel with perforation, very serious health risk. There have been cases where a tumor/cancer in the omentum is the lead point to hernia incarceration, a coincidence. Best to get checked by your doc, get the hernia repaired. Be well.

No: Omentum is commonly found in a hernia but this is not a symptom of cancer.
